So my shifting problem was simply a lubrication problem. Hope this helps other 4000 owners. (Original Post) WAS HAVING TROUBLING SHIFTING INTO 3RD GEAR MOST OF THE TIME WOULD NOT GOFOUND THE TROUBLE THE LINKAGE ON THE SIDE OF THE TRACTOR UNDER THE PLATFORM NEEDED LUBRICATION SPRAYED IT WITH FLUILD FILM A PRODUCT LIKE WD-4 0 IT WILL SHIFT VERY EASY AND EVERY TIME THIS TRACTOR WAS NEW SURE SOLVED THE PROBLEMHOPE THIS WILL HELP SOME OTHERS WITH SHIFTING PROBLEMS

Capital etters are used as a way of expressing emotion, though the use of words. It also takes away the credibility to a posting. Why should anyone bother listening to someone who can't take an extra minute to proof-read their words? Not to mention how demeaning it is to all of us, here on the CTB. We come here for the quality information and conversation that is available & want the CTB to be an Educational website for all to enjoy and learn from. This posting does not belong here IMHO.If you can't take an extra minute to write decently, please don't! I am quite suremany others feel the same, but would probably say it more politely.Sorry..but thats how I see it... ....

You don't have to so hard on someone using capital letters in their remarks. Keep in mind, many of these people are a generation before the baby boomers.. so just be greatful they have computers and they are finally feeling free to use them and provide knowledge and share information with others. I found this mans remarks to be helpful to me.. since I have the same series tractor.. And don't be nit picking and making fun of other peoples spelling.. keyboards are new to a lot of people, and they sure as hell should get some respect on trying.. So Don't be so pompus .. ....

Jason,I didn't feel as if I was making fun of anyone,or being Pompus.I know that sometimes I am very critical, and take the advise/responses on this post very seriously, appearantly I misinterpreted this posting as someone who simply didn't care enough to look at what was posted. I am ashamed for not thinking about all the people out there who are just getting used to computers and such. I assume this posting may have fallen into that category. Once again, I apologies to anyone who may have been affended. Maybe the correct way to state my point is: If at all possible, Please rememberto take an extra minute to read what you are posting, in an effort to clarify what you are trying to convey. And to keep in mind, All Capital letters are used for expressing things like emotion,excitement,anger,ect..through the use of words. ....

Ok, we forgive you. But your last posting here had many spelling errors. I find it kind of funny that as you are saying please proof read what you are posting.. you didn't proof read your last statement.. you too have many spelling & grammar errors... nobody is perfect.. I am definatly not perfect.. I don't care how people type.. and I don't care how they spell.. if they are trying their best, and learning something that eventually will become familiar with them.. then I give them credit.. and as long as they can get their point across to me, and everyone else, and possibly help me with a tractor situation.. Well, then that is all I think everybody else cares about.. I don't knock anybody who is trying their best at helping other people solve problems with their $25,000.00 or more Machines.. so we forgive you.. but just keep that in mind.. we are all here to help and post our opinions and answers.. but we are not here to offend. ....
